PASSIVE INFRA-RED DETECTOR
PIRs are the most commonly used movement detector and are generally suitable for interior use within non-harsh environment (a harsh environment is typically outdoors, however a harsh interior environment could be within a building which is damp, dusty or has uncommonly low or high temperatures, which would cause the device to fail or operate incorrectly).
VIBRATION DETECTORS
Vibrations from doors or windows being forced open can be detected using vibration sensors. These are ‘tuned’ to the particular vibration that is to be expected, which is important to avoid detecting all vibrations which could be caused by other non-emergency factors, such as loose doors or wind vibration.
PANIC BUTTON
Double push panic buttons are fitted where the need for help such as the police may be needed. Typical installations are behind counters in retail installations such as jewellery shops, banks, building societies. On a monitored system pressing the two buttons simultaneously will instantly signal to the alarm receiving centre whereby our operators will summon the local police as a priority personal attack device activated.
BREAK GLASS DETECTORS
A glass-break detector is a surface detector for monitoring glass surfaces and detects intrusion attempts at windows and other glass surfaces. When used together with devices such as motion detectors or infrared beam detectors, which are monitored and coordinated by our smart alarm systems, glass-break detectors effectively secure your property against intrusion. DOOR CONTACTS
Our Door Contacts, which can also be used on other openings, come in several different shapes and sizes, and are designed to operate if the door opens when the system is set. For more industrial environments, higher grade environmental contacts, including for use with roller shutters, are available.
SAFE LIMPETS
Safe Limpets are fitted to safes and have a combined set of sensors. They have a contact reed switch so that in order to open the safe the device has to be lifted off the safe which will cause an activation. They also have an inertias sensor built in so any physical attack to the safe will result in an alarm activation.
INERTIA SESNSORS
Inertia sensors can be either wired or wireless and are fitted to the perimeter of the building such as window and door frames. In high risk installations they may well be fitted to the walls and ceilings of the protected area. They will activate once either a pre-set high impact has been detected or a series of smaller knocks for example someone trying to lever a window or door open. Inertia sensors make an excellent perimeter detection and will activate before the building has been breached.
DUAL TECHNOLOGY MOVEMENT DETECTORS
Dual technology sensors have all the features of the PIR but in addition have a microwave detector-built in. both technologies must activate before the unit will trigger an alarm. These units are used in more harsh environments such as garages, sheds, warehouses etc to prevent false alarms.
